All these problems were resolved in 2001 after one of the biggest holdings functioning in Azerbaijan – Azersun Holding assumed the sponsorship of the team.Azersun Holding, which became famous for its charity deeds not only in Azerbaijan but also in the entire East and the Turkic world, started practical actions for FC Garabagh not to sink into oblivion. Within a short period of time the material problems of the team were settled at the personal initiative of company’s president Abdulbari Goozel. This opened a new era in the activity of FC Garabagh representing over a million of displaced persons. FC Garabagh, which turned into No 1 team of the entire country for its successful participation in European Cups, won 4 country championships and 4 country cups. FC Garabagh is the winner of the last country championship and the cup. FC Garabagh is the highest ranking Azerbaijani club in the world.
