The enterprise, commissioned on July 21, 2010, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, is the first and only salt refinery in the country. "Azerbaijan Salt Production Association" supplying raw materials from Masazir Lake can meet the full demand of the country and the region for iodized salt.

The plant, whose project has been implemented jointly with the Azerbaijan Investment Company, is equipped with the latest process equipment and automated control systems. The Masazir Salt Plant, launched on the recommendation and with the support of UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, manufactures salt according to high standards.

The plant operates 24 hours a day with an annual production capacity of 90,000 tons. The enterprise permanently employs 170 workers, which plays an indisputable role in eliminating unemployment in the surrounding villages. The plant covers an area of 8 ha.

Food and industrial salt manufactured at the Masazir salt plant equipped with the latest process equipment from countries such as Italy, Germany, and Turkey are presented on the market in various calibers and packages under the trademarks "AzerDuz", "Salute", "Bizim Duz", "Alfa".

The industrial salt produced at the enterprise is widely used in tanneries, animal husbandry, road maintenance, swimming pools, filtration systems, boiler houses, oil industry, as well as cheese-making, baking, fish farming, and pickling. Our products both meet the domestic demand and are exported to Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, and other countries.
